Helpful for practice buyers

This podcast is one of the most helpful podcasts I've found since I've decided to buy a practice. Having Brian explain negotiating and tax topics has made the process a lot easier and less stressful.

Start listening 2 years before you plan to buy

I started listening to The Practice Purchased Podcast about two years before I planned to buy a practice and it was the best preparation I could have done. By the time I was actually in the process, I already understood LOIs, purchase price allocation, quality of earnings reviews, and what my transition loan structure should look like.

Brian is accessible, not condescending, and covers the complexity without overwhelming you. The episode on how to pick your practice purchase team (CPA, attorney, lender) alone is worth the entire catalog.

Listened to every episode before making my offer

Brian Hanks is a certified financial planner who advocates specifically for dental practice buyers — which means his interests are aligned with the listener rather than the broker or the seller. That distinction matters enormously in a process where everyone else at the table is trying to get the deal closed.

I listened to the full catalog during my due diligence period and the episode on red flags in a practice's financial statements directly led me to ask questions that revealed a significant accounts receivable problem in a practice I was considering. Saved me from a serious mistake. This podcast pays for itself immediately.
